Ramona (Hoffman) McMordie

Ramona McMordie of Amarillo died on February 9, 2023 at the age of 90.  Ramona was born on December 28, 1932 to Samuel and Ella Hoffman.  She was proud to be of Scottish heritage. Ramona was a graduate of Childress High School and a member of First Christian Church of Amarillo.

Ramona was known for, among many things, her intelligence, beauty and strength.  Her beauty could be seen in her modeling opportunities in her younger years.  Her intelligence was evident in her Real Estate career, of which she was very proud.  Her strength could be seen in her role as the sole provider of her three boys; John, George and Roger.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Roger Thomas Barry.  She is survived by her sons, John H. McMordie and wife Megan Cody; and son, George Stephen Barry. Five grandchildren: Evan McMordie and wife Kaleigh; Miranda McCleskey and husband Colby; Ian McMordie; Audrey Barry and Hannah Barry.  Two precious great grandchildren Caroline and Madeline.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 1:00 pm in the Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel.
