TENTATIVE SERVICE TIMES: They will be confirmed Monday morning. Rosary will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 6:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia with a Prayer Service and visitation to follow at 6:30 PM also at the funeral Home. The funeral mass will be on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Raymond Garcia Jr. was born in Littlefield, Texas, on February 11, 1950, to his parents, Raymond Garcia Sr. and Ricarda Hernandez Flores.
He met the love of his life, Dolores, while visiting a friend in Amarillo. After winning her heart, the two were married on December 1, 1975, in Amarillo, where they began building a beautiful life together and the couple would have celebrated fifty years together this December.
Raymond was a devoted provider who cared deeply for his family. He was dedicated to his faith and an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, and proudly served as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Family was at the center of everything he did. He never missed a birthday or special occasion, always making sure to send a thoughtful card.
Raymond was truly the life of the party—he loved to sing karaoke, dance, and just have a good time. A huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers, he enjoyed cheering on his team and, of course, finding a great deal whenever he could—he loved getting a bargain!
He’ll be remembered for his big heart, his funny sayings, and the way he made everyone feel special.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Maria Gomez and Juanita Castillo, a brother, Antonio Garcia and his son, Israel Castillo.
Raymond is survived by his wife of almost fifty years, Dolores; his son Raymond Castillo Garcia III and his wife Sabina; his three daughters, Gloria Cabello and her husband Juan, Christina Castillo and Kenneth Bates, and JoAnn Castillo Garcia; his sister, Sallie Cortez; his brother, Domingo Garcia and his wife Annie; grandchildren, Savannah, Vanessa, Lori and Efren, Desiree, Josh and Alyssa, Jessike, Jaylyn, Kendra, Kayla, Monique, Cheyenne, Jordan, Sierra and Paul, Kristal and Jordan, Liz and Jazmen; and ten great-grandchildren.
