Renea Wright Miller, age 71, departed from us to be with her heavenly Father on December 20th, 2025. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home and is now forever embraced in the arms of her Savior.
Renea was born on May 23rd, 1954 in Amarillo, TX to her parents, Harold and Reta Wright. She graduated from Caprock High School in 1972 and began her professional career at Texas American Bank as a teller. She served for 31 years and ended her time as Regional Human Resources Director. Renea continued her career at AIG for 11 years, bringing joy and showing kindness to everyone she interacted with. Through hard work and perseverance, combined with an unwavering dedication to helping those around her, she would end her career as Senior Human Resources Director at Herring Bank, until her retirement in July of 2020.
Renea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and follower of Christ. She accepted everyone with open arms, an inviting smile, and a caring heart. Her sincerity brightened the day of anyone fortunate enough to meet her. Renea’s loud, infectious laugh was unmistakable—one that instantly filled a room and will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She took great joy in spending time with her “Yaya’s”, and always favored eating out at restaurants and attending events with those she adored. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her loved ones, and everyone who knew her proudly boasted of her exceptional culinary talents. Known affectionately as "Nana" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she treasured every moment spent with them. Above all, Renea loved the Lord. She found beautiful fellowship within her church family at Quail Creek, supporting and directing the audio/visual elements during Sunday school, and selflessly giving her all in everything God called her to do. She devoted countless hours to studying scripture and following wherever the Holy Spirit would lead her, expressing deep peace and delighting in His word. Renea was a remarkable and inspiring woman, who carried herself with dignity, grace, and integrity all the days of her life. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Elijah David Kappler.
Renea is survived by her husband Monte; her three daughters, Tracey Kappler of Dallas, Melissa Lucero and husband Deron of Amarillo, and Brooke Flowers and husband Cody of Georgetown; her two sons, Dane Kappler and wife Debbi of Bay City, and Jason Hendrick and wife Delisa of Amarillo; her brother, Brad Wright and wife Sherry of Odessa; her cherished grandchildren, Rachel Joy Hultz and husband Austin, Emily Faith Kappler, Amanda Grace Kappler, Dane Baruch Kappler, Aliyah Hope Kappler, Michaela Shalom Kappler, Nathanael Asher Kappler, Isaiah Samuel Kappler, Channah Tovah Kappler, Chase Lee Hendrick, Caige Landon Hendrick and wife Makayla, Macy Joann Hendrick, Cameron Isaac Groomer, Connor Mason Gross, Kyson Philip Gross, Kennon Jude Lucero, Isabella Marea Flowers, Melia Brooke Flowers, Lyla Dawn Flowers, Elliana Joy Flowers, Ezra Thomas Flowers; and her precious great-grandbabies Rita Maude Hultz, Layla Ann Hendrick, Emmy Grace Hendrick, and her puppies whom she adored, Marlee Mae and Mika Jane.
