Rosemary S. Camarillo, 70 of Amarillo, TX entered the gates of heaven on January 31, 2023.
Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. 79110. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Central Church of Christ at 1401 S. Madison St. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery
Rosemary was born on June 10, 1952 to Ramiro and Nohemi Salazar in Edinburg, Texas.
At the age of 15 she met Simon Camarillo they became best friends and in 1983 she married the love of her life. Together they raised two children. They were lifelong partners and completely devoted to one another. Rosemary was Simon’s rock and he could always count on her for encouragement.
She was known by her family and friends as so many things; a rock, the bridge, and the constant in everything. Rosemary was a loving, caring, and graceful woman. She had a very spiritual soul and was a fierce, God loving woman. To her family she was considered the “CEO.” There was nothing she loved more than her family, she especially adored her grandchildren. She is the rose in all our lives.
Rosemary graduated from WT with her bachelor’s degree in Biology and furthered her education by completing her Master’s degree in Chemistry as well. She worked at Pantex for 45 years as an industrial hygienist, retiring in July of 2022. She had a passion for work and those she worked with. In her free time she loved to sew. Rosemary would make so many different things from dresses to blankets.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Roy Salazar and a brother in-law, Leonard Morris.
Rosemary is survived by her loving husband Simon; daughter, Simone Camarillo and fiancé Joshua Rosecrans of Edmond, Oklahoma; son, Simon Camarillo III and wife Jannett of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Margo Cortez and husband Steve of Hereford, Texas, Omega Morris, and Monica Cearley and husband Dan of all of Amarillo; two brothers, Ramiro Salazar and wife Janice of Cleburne, Texas and Jonathan Salazar and wife Sylvia of Austin; Five grandchildren, Simon IV, Adeline, Kateri, Dominic and Caspar Camarillo all of Amarillo.
