Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. We invite all who knew Ruben to join us in honoring his life, sharing memories, and supporting one another as we navigate this profound loss.
Ruben was born on March 24, 1987, in Amarillo to Benny Solis and Cynthia Charles. He proudly graduated from Amarillo High School in 2005, but it was his infectious laughter and fearless approach to life that truly defined him. He worked as a truck driver, demonstrating remarkable determination and commitment to his profession. Ruben had a way of brightening the room with his charisma. Ruben had an infectious laugh that filled every room he was in, especially as he pushed people’s buttons to get a rise out of them just for a good laugh. You couldn’t stay mad, because that smile and laugh wouldn’t allow it.
He had a passion for escape rooms and a love for the Dallas Cowboys that brought him joy. Aside from all of this, Ruben was deeply passionate about all things animal. He would bring countless strays home, making them family pets. His love for animals led him to the outdoors where he envisioned one day swimming with sharks and many other ideas of how to interact with different species of animals. His fun-loving nature and adventurous spirit left a lasting impression on his friends and family.
Ruben’s family, now heartbroken by his passing, includes his beloved daughter, Harmony Solis, who resides in Eugene, Oregon; his parents, Cynthia and Larry D. Skinner, of Amarillo, Texas; and his siblings, Alexis Skinner, Robert Solis, and Ryan Skinner, all of Amarillo; and Grandmother, Crystal Skinner. He is also preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry W. Skinner, and grandmother, Mitzi Gamez.
Ruben will be remembered not just for his achievements, but for the love and laughter he brought to our lives. Rest in peace, Ruben. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
