Ruth Ann Duvak

Ruth Ann (Marten) Duvak, 89, of Amarillo, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Viewing will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 3pm to 8pm at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Graveside services will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11am at Llano Cemetery with Rev. Chris Condit of Hillside Christian Church presiding.

Ruth was born to Bob and Minnie Ola (McGinty) Marten on December 24, 1933, in Electra, Texas. She married Tommy Lee Duvak on June 30, 1951 in Gainesville, Texas. They would relocate to Amarillo, Texas in November of 1952.

Ruth retired form Amarillo Independent School District as a Cafeteria Manager in 1992. She enjoyed reading and embroidering.

Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, a sister, a brother, and a niece. Those left to cherish her memories are her sons Gary and wife Patty of Amarillo, Bobby Lynn and wife Kelly of Lewisville, Texas, and daughter Beverly Ann Yauk and husband Chesson of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as three grandsons, two granddaughters, three great-granddaughters, and three nephews.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff of Heritage Convalescent Center and BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest for the exceptional care our mother received while in their care.
