Sharon Gail (Jones) Mooney

Sharon Gail Mooney, 70, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023.  Sharon was born in Amarillo, Texas on August 16, 1953 to Ray Herbert Jones and Lanora Stroope.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August, 30, 6:00pm at Freedom Baptist Church at 900 Alta Vista St. Amarillo

Sharon served the city and state as a classroom teacher. She retired after many years of teaching in the school system yet continued using her skills and dedication to the community as a member of Freedom Baptist Church, studying and teaching the word of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Christopher Eric Mooney and her brother, Garland Jones.  She will be greatly missed by many others in our community.
