Shirley Ann Wilson

Shirley Ann Wilson age 88 of Amarillo died February 12, 2026, in Amarillo.

A memorial service will be held to honor her life on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 South Georgia. The Rev. Greg Corona of Hillside Christian Church will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Shirley was born on October 16, 1937, in Panola, Oklahoma, to her parents, Clyde and Viola Loman Ames. She graduated from Dalhart High School and soon married Carlton Wilson on April 12, 1957, beginning a wonderful adventure that would span sixty-eight years until Shirley’s passing. Carlton was the absolute love of her life, and Shirley found great joy in being the best wife and mother she could be to their two children, Dwayne and Tim. Throughout their marriage, they remained loving and playful, sharing many memorable trips to the West Coast together.

Shirley was the epitome of love, known for speaking only words of kindness and encouragement. She was generous and devoted to both family and friends, always putting others before herself. She enjoyed knitting, working on crossword puzzles, and in her younger years, creating ceramics. Shirley will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for those around her, and the warmth she brought into every life she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.

Shirley is survived by her beloved husband, Carlton; her two sons, Dwayne Wilson and wife Tina of Amarillo and Tim Wilson and wife Charlotte of Granbury; her grandchildren, Kasey and wife Ashley Wilson, Marc and wife Ashley Wilson, Isabella Wilson and her boyfriend Kade Willimack, Mackenzie Roberson and husband Jon, and Lucas Wilson and fiancé Mykala Chavez; and by two great grandchildren, Nina and Kynlee.
