Sister Maria Margarita Garcia, age 55, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
Rosary will be said 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2018 at St. Lucian Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at St. Lucian Chapel with Bishop Patrick J. Zurek as celebrant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas 79110.
Sister Maria Margarita was born July 20, 1962 to Rafael and Carmen Garcia in Mexico. She was the first vocation of this monastery. She made her first profession on January 25, 1986.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rafael Garcia and a brother, Felipe Garcia.
Sister Maria Margarita is survived by her mother, Carmen; three sisters, Esperanza Garcia, Rosa Garcia and Cecilia Teresa Garcia; and four brothers, Alvaro Garcia, Rafael Garcia, Jr., Jose Garcia and Hugo Garcia.
