Susie Jean Davis

Susie Jean Davis, 75, of Amarillo, passed away on September 19, 2024.

Viewing hours will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 10 am to 3 pm. Susie's life will be celebrated on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Grace Fellowship Church, 4111 Plains Blvd, with Pastor Bill Gehm presiding. 

Susie Jean Davis was born on September 13, 1949, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to Thomas Elmer Jr and Frances Mabelle (Penny) Davis. She relocated to Amarillo with her family in 1968. On June 8, 1976, she enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she would begin her career as an Operating Room Nurse. Susie worked her way through the ranks of the Air Force, obtaining the rank of Captain before retiring. 

Susie was a healer who had a true passion for caring for others. She was a deeply caring, loving, and sweet person. Her love for her fellow man and woman was truly her greatest quality. 

Susie is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sharon Nelson, both maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts Ruth Riggins, Sophie Morris, Nina Strong, and Helen Finke, uncle Ferris Davis, and cousin Robert Jack Davis. Those left to cherish her memories are her brother Thomas E. Davis III, sisters Sandra Bridgeman, Sally Davis, Samantha Woodson, and Sidonna Latham; as well as many extended family and dear friends.
