Tony C. Anderson

July 31, 1950 — October 15, 2023

Amarillo

Tony Anderson, age 73, of Amarillo, died on October 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at home.

Memorial Services will be on Friday at 1:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 South Georgia.

Tony was born on July 31, 1950, in Perryton, Texas, to his parents, Wilburn Cornelius  and Peggy Ann Anderson.  He graduated from Caprock High School in 1968 and attended West Texas State University.  He also served in the US Army Reserves.

On June 24, 1977, he married the love of his life, LaVenna "Kae" Redd, in Amarillo, and that was the beginning of a fantastic adventure that lasted for the next forty-six years.

Tony had a great passion for water and outdoor activities, especially boating, fishing, and skiing.  He loved spending time with Kae and his sons at the lake.  In his younger years, he enjoyed the thrill of fast cars and motorcycles. One of his favorite cars was a Fastback Mustang.

His heart, however, truly blossomed in the presence of his beloved grandchildren, where his quiet demeanor transformed into boundless love and laughter.

In January 2013, Tony retired after working for thirty-nine years at Pantex.

His stoic legacy of strength and integrity lives on through the memories he created and the lives he touched. He will always be deeply missed and fondly remembered by everyone who was fortunate to know him.

His parents, a brother, Pierce Anderson, and his grandson, Sean Patrick Anderson, preceded him in death.

Tony is survived by his wife, Kae; his two sons, Adam Anderson and his wife Melanie of Austin and Brandon Anderson and his wife Renee of Amarillo; a sister, Janie Friedman and her husband Mark of Ft. Worth; and five grandchildren, Madeline, Carter, Luke, Amelia, and Bridget Anderson.
