Tony was born on January 4, 1955 in Perryton, Texas to Ervin J and Marissa S (Pittman) Lamb. He graduated from Springer, New Mexico in 1973 and later attended college in Las Cruces. While in High School, Tony worked for the CS Ranch. Jim Whittenburg hired Tony on at the Ocate Ranch while he was in college. Noticing his potential, Mr Whittenburg relocated him to Stinnett, Texas where he worked at the Turkey Track Ranch. He loved being outdoors where he would hunt and collect arrowheads. When he had time, he would head down to the arena and join in on the team roping going on in the area.
It was at the Turkey Track Ranch where he married Jo Angela Groves on January 20, 1979. Together they built their family and began their own legacy. They lived in Stinnett until 1988 and then moved to Bushland where Tony worked for the Frying Pan Ranch until 2019 when he and Jo Angela moved to Amarillo. They were members of the Freedom Baptist Church of Amarillo. Tony was faithfully devoted to his Lord and Savior and was recently baptized. He was a wonderful family man and a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Tony was also one of the Charter Members of the Coors Cowboy Club and served on the Rodeo Committee for the Tri State Fair and Rodeo from 1994 until his passing.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Marissa, and his father in law Rob Groves. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Jo Angela Lamb, sons, Robert Vance Lamb and wife Nicki and Tony Jake Lamb, brothers, Troy Lamb and wife Lori and Tim Lamb and wife Caren; four grandchildren, Jake, Cooper, Cade, and Caitlyn, and many other extended family and dear friends.
