Amarillo

Vicki Lea (Tomlinson) Leech, 76, of Amarillo, passed on June 3, 2026.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 7,2026, from 1pm to 5pm at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. The family will receive guests from 3pm to 5pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 10am, at Llano Cemetery with Pastor Loran Harper presiding.

Vicki was born on October 24, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas to C.W. and Reba (Gamblin) Tomlinson. She graduated from Tascosa High School Class of 1967 and later received her Licensed Vocational Nursing Certificate from Amarillo College. On April 4, 1974, she married the love of her life, James “Jim” Leech in Amarillo. Vicki worked for the Coffee Memorial Blood Center for 45 years. Her dedication to her career saw her rise from being a phlebotomist to retiring as Director of Collections overseeing all mobile collection and on-site collections operations. Vicki genuinely loved her job.

In her spare time and post-retirement, Vicki enjoyed learning new genres of dance, even taking belly dancing for a time with her sister Pam. Her attention to detail led to a beautifully manicured lawn that she meticulously kept, along with flowers and plants that adorned her back patio where she spent many evenings with Jim and their puppy, Mitzi. Vicki even spent time in the woodshop helping Jim create many different things. Together they traveled all over the country and world. Vicki and Jim spent time in Scotland, several trips to Canda, and they loved travelling throughout the North and Mid-West part of the country.

Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, C.W. Tomlinson Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Jim Leech, sister, Pam Bellieu, and many friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, Jim and Pam have requested that you give the gift of life by donating blood or giving a donation to the Coffee Memorial Blood Center where Vicki gave so selflessly of herself for so many years, 7500 Wallace Blvd #2149, Amarillo, TX 79124.
