Wayne Lance Hawkins, born on July 19, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas, to Fred and Esther Hawkins, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. Raised in Amarillo, he attended Palo Duro High School.

In 1960, Wayne married Linda Dilsaver, and they shared a life for 50 years, raising two wonderful sons. Wayne began his career in the car business and became the used car manager at Sid Stout Ford, where he honed his skills and passion for the automotive industry. He later fulfilled his dream by opening Wayne Hawkins Motor Company on 6th Street, proudly promoting his motto, “Buy From The Hawk You’ll Never Squawk.”
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Esther Hawkins, siblings AB Hawkins, Byrlene Ditmore, and Azaela Rutherford. He is survived by his sons Darrell Hawkins and his wife Cindy, and Danny Hawkins and his wife Dee Ann. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Hunter Hawkins and wife Logan, Hollie Shankle and husband Riley, Dylan Hawkins and wife Peyton, Davis Hawkins, Aiden Adams and husband Jack. As well as two great-grandchildren Lincoln and Harris Hawkins
