Wilma Jean Falke Temple, 89, of Amarillo, died Monday, December 18, 2023.
Rosary will be Monday, January 1, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Fr. Tony Neusch officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Mrs. Temple was born on January 7, 1934, in Lucien, Oklahoma, to Otto and Regina Falke. She married the love of her life, Joe Temple, on October 25, 1952. Joe and Wilma moved to Amarillo from Kansas in 1967. Her hobbies included sports, gardening, and needlecrafting. She has been a long-time member of St. Mary’s Cathedral. She was a loving wife, mother, beloved grandmother, and great-grandmother. She provided strength, comfort, and faithful prayers for her family and friends. Wilma was loved by many, and she cared for everyone she met. She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Cathedral School or Children of the Promise|Cap-Haitien. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, of 62 years, her parents, three daughters, and three siblings. The family would like to show gratitude to Dr. David Langley.
Wilma is survived by a son, Greg Temple, and wife, Debbie of San Antonio; daughter, Kimberly Lynch, and husband, Dan of Tennessee; and daughter, Dr. Angela Phillips, and husband, Ken of Amarillo; and two siblings. She has five grandsons, three granddaughters, and nine great-grandchildren.
