Winiford Brad Glenn

January 23, 1926 — February 25, 2009

Windy was born Jan. 23, 1926, in Quail to Alexander Bradford and Gladys Ferguson Glenn. He married Betty Jo McAlister of Amarillo on June 7, 1947. They were married for 32 years, after which he was married to Billie Ruth Johnson of Lubbock until her death in 1995.
He then remarried Betty Jo in 1996, and remained with her until her death in 2007. He was a great caregiver to both women during their illnesses.
He worked the majority of his life in the automotive industry primarily with local Buick dealerships as parts manager. He also owned Vic's Whirlpool Laundry and Dry Cleaning. In his later life, he worked with TxDOT in Lubbock before he retired.
Windy served in the U.S. Army as a platoon sergeant in World War II. He was wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart.
He loved his church. He and his wife, Betty, began their life at Line Avenue Baptist Church, where he was an active Sunday school teacher and deacon. He was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church at the time of his death.
His great joys in life were God, music and square dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; and two sisters, Pearl Glenn Opsel and Betty Glenn Masten.
Survivors include two children, Victor Glenn and wife Rita of Amarillo and Nancy Hickman and husband J. Pat of Canyon; seven grandchildren, Monica Norris Glenn of Lubbock, J. Brad Hickman and wife Heidi, Stuart Glenn and Alison Glenn, all of Amarillo, J. Grant Hickman and wife Jenna of Belton, Tara Hickman and Crista Hickman of Canyon; four brothers, Steve of Littlefield, Earl and Don, both of Amarillo, and Clinton of Canyon; and two sisters, Micky Glenn Skeen of Clovis, N.M., and Sandi Glenn Becker of Georgetown.
