Bengy C. Richardson

Bengy C. Richardson, 78, of Amarillo died July 11, 2021.

Bengy was born September 19, 1942 in Pampa, TX to Ralph and Mary Ellen Richardson. He grew up in Pampa then graduated from Anson High School. Bengy was offered a scholarship to play Basketball at Frank Phillips College. He was always interested in basketball and tennis. He graduated from Texas Tech University earning a Master’s Degree in Education and taught all levels of high school. His last teaching position was at Highland Park High School. After retirement, he later worked for the Texas Penal System teaching and educating prisoners. Bengy was very committed to caring for his sister, Angela who had limited ability.

Bengy married Karen Schallenberger. Together, they enjoyed training/boarding horses and rescuing dogs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Richardson and Mary Ellen Richardson.

Bengy is survived by his wife, Karen Richardson; sister, Angela Gay Richardson; and aunt, Ramona Allen.
