Bette "Kris" Christine Shields

Bette "Kris" Christine Shields, 71, of Amarillo died October 16, 2021.

Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Stinnett Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Bette was born October 13, 1950 in Borger, TX to Clinton and Patsy Eubanks. As a child, she enjoyed going to the lake with her family. She graduated from Stinnett High School in 1969 and married Joseph Calvin Shields on April 24, 1970 in Canyon, TX. Bette worked as an office assistant at Bucks Sporting Goods, Satellite Cattle Exchange and Franks Plumbing. Bette was fondly known as “Nina”, to everyone and especially the children she took care of at her in home childcare business. She raised many kids throughout the last 20 years. She attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church for several years.

Bette loved her grandchildren near and far along with their activities.  She enjoyed gardening with her husband and going to the casino to play slots and was an avid Texas Longhorns Fan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Calvin Shields on February 19, 2011; and her parents, Clinton and Patsy Eubanks.

Bette is survived by her daughter, Lisa Michelle Reed (Robert) of Amarillo, TX; son, Michael Christopher Shields (Jennifer) of Seguin, TX; 2 sisters, Kathleen Bartley of Fritch, TX and Linda Thompson of Stinnett, TX; grandchildren, Baileigh, Braxton (Little Buddy), Camden, Weston, Makayla and Lexi.
