Betty Jo Delaney Blevins

Betty Jo Delaney Blevins, 93, of Amarillo died February 24, 2021.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2021 in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum, with Dr. Howard K. Batson as officiant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Betty was born December 21, 1927 in Clovis, NM to Ira and Mayme Alice Delaney. She graduated from Clovis High School and attended George Pepperdine College. She married Roy Hill Blevins on August 13, 1949 in Clovis. They lived in Clovis, NM, Amarillo, TX, Dodge City, KS, Waynoka, OK and Ponce City, OK before moving back to Amarillo, TX in 1960. Betty and Roy were blessed with three sons, Bruce, Gary and Mark who were active in Kids Inc., Webelos and Boy Scouts. Betty and Roy were members of the PTA and Band Parents during their sons school years.

Betty loved her Lord, her family and her church. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ruth Sunday School Class, Heritage Club, Heritage Choir, Women on Mission, and Telephone Pioneers. She was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. After retirement, Betty and Roy enjoyed many years of travelling these United States, Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; and sons, Bruce and Gary.

Betty is survived by son, Mark Alan Blevins; daughter-in-law, Nancy Blevins; and several nieces and nephews.
