Carl Wayne White, 78, of Amarillo passed from this life on September 9, 2021.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Private interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Carl was born in Duncan, OK on April 28, 1943 to Jake and Norma (Blevins) White. He graduated from Holiday High School in 1961 in Holiday, TX then attended San Antonio College in San Antonio, TX.
Carl retired from San Antonio Police Department in 1982. He owned and operated a lock and key business, a pest control business and AD-AIR Heating and AC Company. Carl also worked for AISD. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ, National Guard of Texas and Retired Policeman’s Association. Carl was a true patriot and served our country well.
He loved to fish and camp and enjoyed it for years. A kinder, gentler giant you would never be able to find if you looked. He was a Mr. Fix-it to his neighbors, friends and even strangers. His grandchildren thought, “if Papa can’t fix it, it can’t be fixed.” When Norma, his wife of 35 years and he travelled, he fixed all kinds of things for other travelers staying in the parks. Catfish fishing was what he loved the most.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sons.
Carl is survived by his wife, Norma; three daughters, Colonels Carla Dickinson (Rick), Kerry Fullencamp and Drs. Kelly Gerow (Royal); and five grandchildren, Connel Fullencamp, Kaden Fullencamp, Jordan Gerow, Justin Gerow and Joy Gerow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to High Plains Children’s Home, 11461 S. Western, Amarillo, Texas 79118.
