Carlana "Lana" (Oberg) Morphis

Carlana Marie Oberg age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 28th, 2020.
She was born on August 20th, 1943 in McCook, Nebraska, to Carl and Helen Oberg. She was the middle child of three children. Lana was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Morphis, brother Donnie, and daughter Nancy.
She is survived by her brother, Vernon, her son Bradley, and six daughters, Dianna, Audrey, Adriane, Jennifer, Juliana, and Rosanne.
Lana, who was also affectionately known as Nannie to the many grandchildren she had, will be remembered for the out pouring of love and generosity to family and friends. She will also be remembered for her ability to bring those who were close to her together over a home cooked meal. Her love for her family was evident in the amount of time she spent preparing meals from scratch and never wanting a get-to-gether to end without lots of pictures to mark the occasion. Lana spent countless hours trying to help those less fortunate as the founder of several non profits such as, Martha’s Home, The Downtown Women’s Center, and Another Step Ahead Program. She workered to make other’s lives better and to share the love of Jesus. Lana was an active member of The Coalition for the Homeless and of St. Mary’s parish.
Her life was filled with lots of family and grandchildren who she loved spending time with. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, and participating in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. We are thankful for being able to witness the redeeming love and grace of our Lord Jesus through the life of Lana.
