Carol Williams Fiel passed from this life peacefully in her sleep on February 1, 2018.  She is reunited with parents, Don and Alice, husbands, Bill and Jim and beloved son Billy.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home’s Brentwood Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas 79110.

Carol was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 17, 1939.   She spoke often of the many happy memories of her childhood between the Springs and her Grandparents farm in Ramah.

Carol married Bill Williams on June 29, 1957 in Denver Colorado. Their life was blessed with the birth of three children.  The family moved to Amarillo, Texas in January of 1965.

Carol was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time working for the Caprock Net, CB radio emergency response taskforce, (original “storm chasers” in the Texas Panhandle) that she and her husband founded in the late 60’s.

Carol lost her beloved husband Bill in 1973 and raised her children with the help of her grandmother “Bimmey”.

Carol married her soulmate Jimmie Lee Fiel on October 4, 1985. They shared a wonderful, happy life until he passed away on June 3, 1998.

Carol was the strength in her family, surviving cancer twice and always offering guidance in troubled times. Her favorite words of encouragement were “God already knows how this ends, but you have to walk it out, and that’s the hard part.”  Carol will be most remembered for her quirky sense of humor, her laugh, take-charge attitude and stubbornness!

Carol loved “critters” especially wolves, cabins in the woods, mountains, the Steelers and Notre Dame, but mostly her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Dona and husband Brent Leedy, Robbyn and husband Kevin Hart, Brenda and husband Tim Denbo. Her grandchildren, Holli and husband Nick, Mikey, Amber and husband Bobby, Heather and husband John, Kevin and wife Brittnie, Chauna and husband Chad, Jeremy, Tiffany and husband Logan, Aaron and wife Audrey; 29.5 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; her sister-in-law, Jean Womble; many nieces and nephews; and best friends, Nancy, Lorri and Sandy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made in Carol’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
