Charles Dale Hulsey

Charles Dale Hulsey, 86, of Amarillo died May 9, 2018.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church, 3208 S. Van Buren St. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Dale was born October 1, 1931 in Ardmore, OK to Arthur and Lyda May Hulsey. He served in the United States Army Corp of Engineers and was awarded a Bronze Medal as well as the Wharang Distinguished Military Service Medal.

After the Army, he worked as a Master Electrician and was a member of IBEW 602 for 68 years. Dale was a lifelong lover of music but his favorite was Bluegrass. He enjoyed bowling, working crossword puzzles, and golfing. Dale never slowed down and was a mentor to many.

He is preceded in death his parents; and 1 granddaughter, Kara Knorpp.

Dale is survived by his wife, Carol Hulsey; 1 daughter, Von Dell Knorpp and husband Kerry of Amarillo; 2 sons, Bryan Hulsey of San Antonio and Carl Hulsey and wife Lisa of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren, Valerie Simonoff and husband Mike, Katie Barnes and husband Steven, Clinton Knorpp, and Hilary Hulsey; and his little fella “Rags.”
