August 9, 1945 — January 25, 2021

Dixie Jean McNeice, 75, of Amarillo, TX was laid to rest and entered into eternal life on Monday January 25, 2021 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo.

Born August 9, 1945 in Muncie, IN she was the daughter of her father Richard Collins and her mothers Norma Riedel, Barbara Collins, and Ruby Adams (Grandma Mom) Dixie attended Parker High School with the class of 1963 and would later attend nursing school at Amarillo College with the class of 1990. She spent many of her years proudly being a nurse and caring for her patients. A caretaker; most simply put, this is what the selflessness of Dixie would define her to be. From raising her children, to treating her patients, or to helping raise her grandchildren, anyone in Dixie’s care knew what a radiant love felt like. She was a loving and dedicated wife and loved attending Amarillo Fellowship Church. Her passions resided in her children, her family, horses, the outdoors, cowboy decor, and her faith. Dixie had many titles and roles including Nene, Mama, wife, mother-in-law, step-mother, sister, daughter, cousin, aunt, friend, and many more, but she prioritized her role of being a servant to her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ before any other. Dixie lived her life as a mother to many, a friend to all, and a stranger to none.

Dixie is preceded in death by her father Richard Collins. She is survived by her husband Lewis McNeice of Amarillo, her son Darrin Shaw and his wife Pam of Canyon, her daughter Debbie Nash and her husband Darrell of Amarillo, her son Darrick Shaw and his wife Jaime of Melrose, NM, her daughter Donelle Davis and her husband Wayne of Amarillo, as well as her stepdaughter Casey Booth and her husband Brad of Amarillo. She is also survived by her mothers Norma Jean Riedel and Barbara Collins, her brothers and sisters Judy Reiber, Tammy and Dick Collins, Durinda Cunningham, Scott Moore, Anna Shunk, and Liz Drayton, her 26 grandchildren and her 27 great-grandchildren.
