James "Jim" Arend

James “Jim” Arend, 86, of Amarillo passed away August 28, 2021.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 Coulter. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia.

Jim was born on August 10, 1935 in Jackson, Michigan to Cletus and Margaret Arend. He was the owner of Tri-State Parts Warehouse. Jim was a member of the Amarillo Executive Association, Past president and former board member of Downtown Women’s Center, member of the Catholic Family Services and Amarillo Agency for Women.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, William, Thomas and Robert Arend.

Jim is survived by his wife Marge; son Bob Arend and wife Aida of Hurst, TX; 2 daughters Mary Jo Zallar and husband Dave, Patty Pate and husband Glenn of Amarillo, TX. He was the most loving Grandpa to his 6 grandchildren, Bryan, Katie, David, Stephen, Nick and Stewart; and loving “G-Pa” to 4 great- grandchildren Bella, Dawson, Phoenix and Anna.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Downtown Women’s Center 409 S. Monroe St. or favorite charity.
