Jim Lee Wood, 82, Amarillo, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021.
Visitation will be from 6-700 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Claude Cemetery, Claude, Texas. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 1208 S Tyler St. Amarillo, Texas. Dr. Howie Batson officiating. Arrangements by Schooler Funeral Home
Jim was born February 16, 1939 in Claude, Texas to Eugene and Bonnie Wood. He graduated Claude High School and attended Oklahoma Panhandle State and West Texas State University. Jim played football in college and was on the first team to play at Kimbrough Stadium. He also coached football and basketball and farmed and ranched.
He married Lynna Wilson on July 15, 1967 and had two sons. Jim enjoyed spending time with his sons and loved watching his grandkids play sports. He was a REALTOR and enjoyed roping, farming, ranching and his horses. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amarillo.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Bonnie Wood and his brother, Harry Wood.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lynna Wood of Amarillo; two sons, Lance Wood and wife, Connie of Clarendon; and Cory Wood and wife, Sheena of Amarillo; his brother; Bill Wood and wife, Paula of Claude; his sister-in-law Jean Wood of Claude; his grandkids, Courtney Wood of Craig, Alaska; Cody Wood and wife, Rachel of Nashville,TN; Colt Wood of Amarillo, TX; Levi Wood of Dallas, TX; Tyler Wood of Lubbock,TX and Drustten Hanyen and wife, Lindsai of Amarillo, TX; great grandkids; Madeline and Elouise.
The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Clarendon , P.O. Box 944, Clarendon, Texas 79226 and Claude Cemetery.
