John McConnell, 55, of Groom, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 16, 2018 at City of Groom Cemetery, Groom, Tx. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
John was born April 19, 1962 in Amarillo to William Okla and Francis Eileen McConnell. He graduated from Groom High School in 1980.He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation in Groom for over thirty years. He enjoyed hanging out with good friends, shooting, sports, and camping in the mountains.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Leslie Sewell.
John is survived by one sister, Jaynie Shortnacy of Amarillo; two brothers, Bill McConnell and wife, Sandra of Amarillo and Hank McConnell and wife, Holly of Midland; and nine nieces and nephews.
