Johnny Anderson

Johnny Ray “JR” Anderson, age 91, died Friday, January 4, 2019 in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral service for Johnny Ray “JR” Anderson will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery.

He was born June 3, 1927 in Tillman County, Oklahoma to Theodore and Florence (Moore) Anderson.  He was a 1946 graduate of Mountain Park High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He married Ernestine Hankins on April 25, 1965.

He was a lifetime farmer and rancher and was retired from the Rural Mail Carriers Association.  He was a member of Mountain Park Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ernestine, of the home; two daughters, Pam of Amarillo, Texas, and Penny of Kansas; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara of Frederick, Oklahoma, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Grant of Altus, Oklahoma and Rena and Eddie of Mountain Park, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews.

His mother, Florence, and his dad, Theo, preceded him in death.
