The daughter of Khalil Isaac Masso of Jerusalem, Palestine & Carmen Phara’on Masso of Deyr Al Amar Lebanon,  Linda Phara’on Masso was born on February 5, 1927 in Monterey, Mexico.  She was raised in Jerusalem, Palestine, where she completed her early schooling. Linda met the love of her life and soul mate for 63 years, Hanna Malouf of Tyre, Lebanon, in Jerusalem, where the pair were married on 10/11/1941.

It was in 1948, that the young Malouf family (with 3 children) found itself fleeing their simple beginnings in search of a refuge, in the port city of Tyre, Lebanon-- away from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In 1958, when the political situation began to worsen in Lebanon, Hanna and Linda decided to move their family (with 8 children) away from all the chaos. They decided to immigrate to the United States, where (in the City of Lubbock, Texas) Hanna was able start a small clothing store. They endured many hardships, including the culture shock and learning a new language, in order to provide for their large family, which eventually included thirteen children.

In their early years, Hanna & Linda managed to move their home and business to different parts of the Texas Panhandle, searching to improve their lot.  Their first move was from Lubbock to Lockney, Texas (from 1962-1964): then to Hereford, Texas (from 1964-1966); and to Friona, Texas (in 1967), where they established Malouf’s Fabrics.

Throughout the hardships that the family endured, Linda would continue to utter the words “God Will Provide.” She, always, seemed to have a kind eye, and an aching heart, for all those who suffered. She harbored compassion in her heart for all the needy.  Her love, for the Lord, always took center stage, as she would spend whatever free time in prayer and in service to her small community church of St. Teresa’s of Friona, Texas.  She always had a way of making each of her children and grandchildren feel very special and very loved.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Hanna; her daughter Marie and spouse Bob Swayden of Amarillo, Texas.

Linda is survived by twelve of her children & their spouses: Renee and Roy Kuper of Hereford, George  and Yiota Malouf of Lubbock; Tony and Dr. Cathy Malouf of Levelland; Carmen and Fred Salamy of Amarillo; Souad and Pierre Bejjani of Houston; Georgette and Dr. Bert Williams of Houston; Amal and Dale Parsons of Dallas; Sylvia and Cris Ingram of Friona; Joseph and Melissa Malouf of Houston; Jissele and Danny Hand of Friona; Dr. Richard and Leanne Malouf of Los Angeles, California; and Dr. Peter Malouf and fiancé Lindsey of Dallas.

Linda is also survived by thirty-nine grandchildren; sixty-eight great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three sisters, Viola Farhat of Eagle Pass, Texas, Mary Massad of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Georgette and Charles Isaac of Lubbock, Texas; and one brother, John Masso of Las Vegas, NV.
