Linda "Joyce" Crabtree Pratt

Linda “Joyce” Crabtree Pratt, 81, of Amarillo passed away November 15, 2022.

It was Joyce’s wishes not to have a service. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Linda Joyce Pratt was born April 4, 1941 in Hutchinson, KS to Glenn and Violet Crabtree. She was a graduate of Tascosa High School then earned her ADN Degree from Amarillo College in 1971. Joyce went back to school to obtain her BSN Degree from West Texas A&M University in 1983. She served the needs of the sick, injured and elderly as a Critical Care Registered Nurse/Case Manager. Joyce took great pride in helping each person she came into contact with, especially the veterans and their families. She worked at several hospitals in New York State then returned home to Amarillo where she worked at the Thomas E. Creek VA Healthcare System for 27.5 years retiring in 2005. Joyce had a great love for animals, especially dachshunds and horses of all breeds.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents; infant daughter, Kimberly Ann Pratt; two sisters, Gloria E. Griffin and Glenda L Williams; and brother, Roger S. Crabtree.

Joyce is survived by daughter, Lisa R. Cole of Bryan, TX; granddaughter, Jessica Froehling and husband, Mark; great-grandson, Luke all of College, Texas; nephews, Glenn A. Griffin and wife, Linda of Corpus Christi, TX, and Russell Williams and wife, Lisa of Amarillo, TX; niece, Terri Sexton of Sulphur Springs, TX; several great nieces and great nephews; and her beloved fur-baby, Kathy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Amarillo SPCA or High Plains Food Bank.

Joyce was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
