Margaret "Marge" Martin

Margaret “Marge” Martin, 84, of Amarillo died November 27, 2017.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Schooler Funeral Home’s Brentwood Chapel with Rev. Darrell Burton officiating. A private inurnment was held at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Marge was born December 25, 1932 in Oklahoma City to Fred and Alice Wolf.  She graduated from the Villa de Chantal in Rock Island, IL and attended Oklahoma A&M. She married Quentin Martin in 1952 and was a devoted wife and mother of four. After moves to Wyoming, California and Oklahoma, the family settled in Texas until her death. Marge began working for Baptist Community Services after Quentin’s death and retired in 2011. She loved time with family and friends, gardening and playing cards.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.  She is survived by her children and their spouses:  Mary and Danny Thompson of Hartley; John and Jamie Martin of Edmond, OK; Bill and Sheryl Martin of Loma, CO; and Vivian and Randy Denham of Amarillo.  She leaves 7 grandchildren-Lance, Matthew, Monica, Mary, Payton, Katie and Whitney- and 10 great grandchildren.  Marge is also survived by her sisters: Pat Hodges of Norman, OK; and Freida Rogers and husband Richard of Ft. Worth, as well as nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Baptist Community Services for their kindness and generosity while Marge worked then lived at the Harrington Assisted Living.  Special thanks also go to the loving nurses from High Plains Senior Care, BSA Hospice of the Southwest and Kirkland Court.

The family suggests memorials to be sent to Harrington Assisted Living, 1300 S. Harrison, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
