Mary Elizabeth (Sieverman) Bohannon

Mary Elizabeth Sieverman Bohannon, 75, of Amarillo died February 28, 2020.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m, Monday, March 2, 2020 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1601 S. Georgia Street. Arrangements are made by Schooler Funeral Home.

Mary was born September 19, 1944 in Manhattan, the third child of Jeanne Brophy Sieverman and Frank A. Sieverman III. She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College majoring in Journalism. She was the editor of the AC Ranger. She was a reporter for Amarillo Globe News, where she met and married the love of her life, Bruce F. Bohannon in 1965.

Mary is a lifelong Episcopalian and a member of St. Andrew’s since 1960 when her family moved to Texas.

She received Real Estate Degree from Amarillo College, and was a supplemental faculty member, teaching real estate math and related real estate classes for 15 years. She was a practicing Real Estate Agent/Broker for over 30 years. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of General Studies Degree from West Texas A & M in 1994. She later relocated to Southern California to be closer to her sister. She was a licensed real estate agent and Escrow Officer until retiring back to Amarillo.

Mary is preceded in death by husband Bruce, her son Mark, a brother, Frank A. Sieverman IV, Sister Toni Sieverman Root and parents Jeanne B. and Frank A. Sieverman III.

Survived by a son and daughter-in-law Erick and Shelly Bohannon of Amarillo; a son Matthew Bohannon; a daughter Libby Casarez and husband D.J.; granddaughters, Aryn Goldberg and husband Jared of Boston and Bella Bohannon of Amarillo; grandson Dustin Bohannon and wife Cori of Amarillo; great-grandsons Landon and Silas; her sister and brother in law Claire J. Sieverman and Leo Bourke; her brothers and sisters-in law Andy and Gail and Casey and Julie; her extended family, Hsin Hsin and Emily Cheng, Karen, and Angela Workman.

Family requests memorials be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church 1601 S. Georgia St. Amarillo, Texas 79102.
