Penny Lynn (Fetter) Bybee

1960 — 2022

Amarillo

Penny Lynn Fetter Bybee, age 61 of Amarillo passed from this life on January 9, 2022.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Trinity Fellowship on Thursday, January 13, 2022.  The Rev. Kyle Wilkinson will officiate.

Penny was born on August 8, 1960 in Lima, Ohio to her parents William “Bill” and Betty Rohn Fetter.

To know Penny was to know strength.  She was authentic and real.  She had the thickest skin yet had the deepest love you could have ever known.  She was an inspiration to everyone around her.  She had the will power to change her entire life and to have a second chance at motherhood, giving her grandchildren the best possible life.

She had many loves in her life, but those she held the closet were her children, grandchildren and the T-Anchor Flee Market. She was involved with the flee market for over twenty five years where she was manager and also ran her own businesses, Thunderbolt Racing, Purses Plus and Gothca Covered.   Penny was an icon there and everyone knew her. Her children and grandchildren were raised at the flee market at some point in their life.

Penny was loved by everyone that knew her, family, friends and vendors alike.  She had a way of making people feel special and welcome.  She was bigger than life.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob Smith; her sisters, Brenda Fetter Watts and Tammy Hays; brothers, William Fetter Jr.,  and Tom Hilleary; and by a grandchild, Angel Bybee.

She is survived by her three daughters, Angela Bybee Wadley of Amarillo, Amber Bybee Sanderson of Idaho, and Amanda Bybee of Amarillo; her son, Jerry Bybee Jr.; five sisters; three brothers; three grandchildren whom she raised as her own, Destin Bybee, Amirrah Bybee and Dregan Ford; her grandchildren, Ronnie Sanderson, Sawyer Sanderson, Jameson Fleming, Ryleigh Wells, Andrew Wells. Jaycob, Wells and Haylee Bybee; and many other family members and friends.
