Raul C. Herrera

Raul C. Herrera, 66, of Amarillo passed away January 3, 2022.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, 1200 S. Washington. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Raul was born October 4, 1955 to Jesusa and Pablo Herrera in Dimmitt, TX. He married Carolina Gonzalez in 1973. He loved to sing and dance and also play Bingo. He was a very giving man and lived a life of faith.  Raul was sometimes a jokester and loved to make people laugh.   He delighted in his grandchildren and enjoyed giving them rides on his wheelchair.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolina; his parents; brothers, Ruben and Frank Herrera; Sister, Paula Espinoza and son, Christopher Herrera.

Raul is survived by his daughter, Laura Herrera and husband Victor Carbajal; Sons, Michael Herrera, Catarino Herrera and John David Garcia; Sisters, Irma Leal and husband, Albert, Sylvia Olvera and husband, Raul, Diane Reyna and husband, Joe, Mary Ann Carrisco and husband, Johnny, Gracie Herrera; brothers, Gilbert Herrera and Paul Herrera and wife Olivia; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
