Robert “Bob” Dean Brown

Robert Dean Brown, 79, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, November 16th in the presence of his loving family and friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, November 18th from 6pm to 8pm in the Schooler Funeral Home located at 4100 S. Georgia St. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at the Church of Christ at the Colonies, on Friday, November 19th, 2021 beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dick Marcear presiding. Known by many as “Bob” he was a loving and deeply devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all those he encountered. He was born on January 31st, 1942 in Amarillo, Texas to Jim and Maxine Brown. Thought of by many as a wise counselor, Bob was loyal and fiercely protective of his wife (Cha Cha), three girls, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob would do any and everything to take care of his family. Acts of service was his favorite way to show love to others. There was nothing around the house that he could not fix, and his family always knew they could look to him as their problem-solver.

When asked for her thoughts, Charlotte, Bob’s loving wife of 58 years, said it best, “he was everything to me from the very first time I met him. I never doubted how much he loved me. He was just perfect for me.” Anyone who knew them could see that their marriage was the perfect example of how Christ wants us to selflessly serve one another. Bob had something good to say about everyone that he encountered. Likewise to know Bob was to love him. His charm, wit, and loving personality was larger than life. It filled a room, despite the fact that he would never want to be the center of attention.

Bob had such a special ability to connect with all of his loved ones in a way that made each and every person feel as if they were his “favorite”. That is the kind of unreserved love he freely showed us all. He was never afraid to speak his mind and never held back for fear of what others thought, and that is what made his love so deeply felt and treasured.

Bob is survived by the love of his life, Charlotte Brown and his three daughters Jamie and John Inlow, Jenny and David Boydston, and Jill and Kelly Elliott. Adored by ten grandchildren: Jayden and Ashton, Jaylee and Kyle, Karsen and Chase, Bayler and Avery, Jarred, Kollin, Kade, Becklee, Berrilyn, Kolsen; five great-grandchildren: Leighton, Lennon, Lane, Hannah, and Emery. He is also survived by brother David and Rosa Brown, sister Teresa and Mike Hillman, sister-in-law Paula Bowers and brothers-in-law Pat Bowers and Dale Tarbet, as well as many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Preceded in death by daughter, Shelly Brown, his mother and father, Maxine and Jim Brown, mother and father-in-law, Mildred and J Paul Wilson, brother-in-law, Noel Wilson, and sister-in-law Betty Tarbet.
