Ruth Stephenson

Ruth Stephenson, 90, of Amarillo, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Claude.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Schooler Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Great Plains Western Church in Claude. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, Amarillo.

Ruth was born in Estelline, Texas on July 20, 1929 to William and Thelma Goldsmith. She loved to sew and crochet and was known as the “Pot Holder Lady”. She was member of the Fairview Community and Busy Bees Club for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Marvin Stephenson; a son, Edwin Stephenson; and a grandson, Eric Shane Stephenson.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Nancy Philley and husband, Darrell of Washburn; three grandchildren, Jason, Shannon and Adam; and four great-grandchildren, Sadie, Shane, Matthew and David.
