Susy Montgomery

Susan Dale “Susy” Montgomery, 63, of Amarillo passed away on July 9, 2021

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Schooler Funeral Home.

Susy was born in Amarillo, Texas on October 25, 1957 to Lloyd Dale and Eleanor Gail Gifford. She graduated Tascosa High School and received her cosmetology degree as a hairdresser. She worked as the law librarian for Potter County for many years then for Jack Sisemore Traveland.

Susy had a big heart and loved her family and friends dearly.  She was an avid gardener and card player, “Texas Hold-Em and “Mahjong” were a couple of her favorites.  She also attended St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church for many years.

Susy is preceded in death by her parents; her nephew, Justin Gifford; and former husband, Keith Montgomery.

Susy is survived by two sons, Gifford Montgomery of Amarillo, TX and David ”Dusty” Montgomery of Dallas, TX; one sister, Judy Gayle of Garland, TX; cousin, Kelly Gifford Field of Baton Rouge, LA; aunt and uncle, Gene and Liz Gifford of Amarillo, TX; and three grandchildren; Austin, William and Libby Montgomery that lovingly called her “Nana”. She also loved and was loved by her beloved pets; Lexi and Nellie.
