Theda grew up in Oklahoma for ten years before moving to Odessa with her parents, Stella and Jack Nall. She became a Christian at age 10 and was always active in her church. She graduated from Lamesa High School in 1942, attended the University of Texas, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She married her high school sweetheart, William Aubrey Hardwick, Jr. on November 22, 1944. They were married 63 years. She lived in Austin, Texas while her husband completed his PhD program. Her two sons, Will and Don, were born in Austin.  They lived in Austin Texas, moving to St. Louis, Missouri, where they lived for 32 years. After her sons left their neighborhood elementary school, she was employed as the school secretary there (she was called “Mother Superior”) for seventeen years. She loved the children and teachers and was much loved and appreciated by them. Because of her husband’s management position with Anheuser-Busch, they were able to travel abroad and throughout the United States, meeting interesting people and making lifelong friends.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Boerne where she sang in the choir and had a heart for missions, local and foreign. She and Bill retired andmoved to Fair Oaks Ranch in 1985, enjoying many years of golf and travel. They built their dream house on the golf course. She was an accomplished seamstress, played golf and bridge. She loved singing with her church choirs. She lived in Morningside Cottages at Menger Springs in Boerne, Texas, before moving to Park Place Towers in Amarillo in February, 2018. She will be remembered for the beautiful clothes she designed and sewed for her little sister Donna and her granddaughters; and for her beautiful hand stitchery she shared with her family and friends. She was a caregiver for her parents and her husband who had dementia.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, William A. “Bill” Hardwick, Jr., her parents, her in-laws William A. and Sadie Hardwick, her brother-in-law Don Moore, her sister-in-law Drucilla and husband Jay Meador, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
